About

About me
My work revolves around play and discovery. My fascination with the childlike mindset and their ability to turn everyday things into epic adventures became apparent while creating my documentary ‘Altijd blijven spelen’ in 2020. This served as my launching pad to delve deeper into the world of fantasy, resulting in my project 'Joep in the Tomato Soup,' a short children's film where reality and imagination merge, and nothing is as it seems.

Play is an integral part of my creative process, and I enjoy sharing this with others, where the process itself becomes a goal. Whether collaboratively crafting a 3-meter-tall paper-mâché factory or working with second-hand materials, my aim is to let people experience the joy of discovery and creation.

In my art, I challenge reality and encourage participants to actively engage. Inspired by television programs like 'Villa Achterwerk' and artists like Jan Švankmajer, I strive to convey creativity, audacity, and adventure. My work is an invitation to confuse both children and adults, to lead them astray, and to rediscover the skill of playing—a skill that many seem to have lost over the years.
